Alma Opus Plasma™

Skin Resurfacing and Skin Tightening

About Opus

Opus is an innovative, first-of-its-kind radiofrequency skin resurfacing technology that improves the skin’s tone and texture with treatments that take 10 to 15 minutes and require minimal downtime.

Opus Plasma represents the next generation of fractional skin resurfacing treatments for women and men of most skin types who want to minimize wrinkles and reverse damage caused by the sun and the natural aging process. The procedure’s versatility enables us to adjust treatment intensity from light to aggressive, depending on the patient’s skin condition and goals.

The innovative platform combines radiofrequency (RF) energy with plasma created when the RF energy emitted from the tips of metal pins react to atmospheric pressure.

Like other laser skin resurfacing treatments, Opus Plasma removes only a fraction of the skin in the targeted area. Fractional skin resurfacing creates thousands of tiny micro-injuries to the skin while leaving the surrounding tissue undamaged. The body’s natural healing response repairs these controlled wounds by producing new collagen and elastin, the building blocks of smooth, youthful-looking skin.

Unlike traditional laser-based skin resurfacing technologies, however, Opus Plasma precisely controls the time that radiofrequency energy makes contact with the skin. This minimizes unwanted inflammation that typically leads to longer recovery times.

At our practice, your cosmetic goals are always within reach, thanks to state-of-the-art technology like Alma Opus Plasma™

Before and After Photos

Is Opus similar to skin resurfacing?

Yes and no.
Opus is a microplasma procedure that gently creates micro-injuries similar to RF micro-needling, but it accomplishes this using unipolar radiofrequency energy. The technology is so adjustable that it can replicate the results of a gentle chemical peel or the intensity of an aggressive CO2 resurfacing procedure, depending on the patient’s needs.

Will there be a long recovery period after treatment?

Because Opus is so customizable, any associated recovery times will depend on the level of treatment provided by your technician. However, we find that potential risks and implications associated with Opus are significantly fewer and more minor than other comparable technological platforms and aesthetic procedures.

How many sessions will I need?

The precise number of sessions you will need for your desired results depends on the treatment plan created by your provider. But in many cases, patients attain impressive results with as little as one session. Your Opus treatment plan will be created following a consultation with a member of our practice to determine the number of sessions you will need for optimal results.

What is Plasma Skin Tightening?

During our youth, we enjoy the benefits of a steady supply of natural nutrients which keep our skin smooth, taut, and wrinkle-free. As we age, however, this essential storage of proteins and nutrients can run low, making the skin lose elasticity. This results in fine lines and a sagging appearance.

When you want to enhance the tautness of your complexion non-surgically, then you might consider plasma skin tightening at Issa Wellness Institute. The state-of-the-art Alma Opus®, noninvasive skin tightening works to encourage the production of collagen and elastin. This makes it possible to achieve more taut, glowing skin.
